WaPo's Cillizza Explains That Peace Prize Allows Obama to Escalate War Submitted by davidswanson on Fri, 2009-10-09 15:15. Media
Predictable:http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/white-house/obama-keeps-his-eye-on-the-pri.html
"Winning the Nobel Prize will allow Obama to go to his divided Democratic caucus and make the case far more forcefully that the time is now to stay united behind him on Afghanistan. It isn't a silver bullet solution as many liberal members have strongly held beliefs on the issue that aren't likely to change simply because Obama is a Nobel Prize winner, but for many who are on the fence, the prize may be just the thing that pushes them onto Obama's side."
Meanwhile, without looking I can be sure Republicans are preparing to denounce any move toward peace as influenced by socialists in Scandinavia, and Obama is preparing to obey Republicans. Shouldn't the damn Nobel committee have asked someone how US politics works before pulling this stunt?
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/46877I think the opposite is true, now if Obama accepts 40.000 or 60.000 more troops, everybody will say "you are the peace prize winner, how can you do that?"

| 1. Cillizza is an idiot. He's supposed to be some "lefty", but he just isn't. |
|
He's a pretend to be who likes his D.C. circles and over inflated ego. I can't stand him, and most of the time he is wrong. or makes idiot statements without factual support. Most of America thinks its an honorable thing. Most of America supports Pres. Obama. Many want out of the wars, but know we need to do so responsibly, and until Pres. Obama defines a mission in Afghanistan, America will not continue supporting a money pit, especially with the economic forecast. Most of America is wondering why it is that we cannot have universal healthcare, yet we can throw money at a useless war that has never caught or killed Osama... BTW, if you randomly ask people, most think he's already dead.... If the our elite special forces wanted to find, capture, or kill anyone, they would have the mission completed within a month or so. BTW most random people I speak with at my hotel from across the country want a Canadian h.c. system, want out of the wars, don't believe the official version of 9/11, and want a jobs stimulus program to get America working again... forget the big banks, they do nothing for main st.

and fearful that it won't work, and Obama will continue in his Bush-lite ways.
It would be nice if Obama saw the light and closed Gitmo, Bahgram, and the 3 hot wars and the various small cold ones, but I ain't holding my breath. He's already backed away from too many campaign promises to get any more mileage from Hope.

| 4. It allows Obama to do more of whatever he wants. |
|
Lets wait and see what he wants to do, then we can discuss what he wants to do without pulling things out of our ass.
