Tillman story bolsters fight for truth -- everywhere
The parents of Pat Tillman were on Larry King a few nights ago, chronicling the cover-up of their son's death by the Bush-era Pentagon.
Their fight for the truth is portrayed in the documentary film "The Tillman Story," opening in theaters today.
You could not watch the interview with the aggrieved couple (Mary and Pat Tillman Sr. are amicably divorced) and not be outraged at how the powerful have mastered keeping the truth under lock and key.
You could not watch the sharp pain and exquisite determination in these parents' eyes and not applaud them for still fighting, for not giving up.

If the Tillman story doesn't concern you, consider this: If the Tillmans were to cave under pressure, if they were to settle for anything less than the full truth, then we all lose.
Not only because the truth is everything, the absolute power, but because if those who spun Tillman's death and exploited his heroism are not held accountable (and those complicit in the cover-up go as far up as now-retired Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal), then we have no business believing the truth will prevail anywhere else. Not in the Tamara Greene/Manoogian Mansion case, not in the Oakland County Child Killer case, not in the case of the 7-year-old killed when police used a flash grenade in a raid of her home and certainly not in the case involving the Kilpatrick Civic Fund.
