Grifter Herman Cain Sold Campaign $100k Worth of His Own Books

Oh, this is cute: delusional pizza man Herman Cain made his presidential campaign purchase over a hundred grand in copies of his own weird book sold by his own for-profit company!

That is why God invented long-shot political campaigns after all, to help ambitious grifters shill prematurely titled books like This Is Herman Cain! My Journey to the White House filled with curious exhortations to illiteracy such as “I like to say I’m a leader, not a reader.” Only SHEEPLE read.

Anyway, Herman Cain will keep running for president until all his books about the pointlessness of reading are sold, to his campaign.

Good “business plan.”

2. Seems to be a growth industry for Republican politicians.
No dearth of anti-government type candidates to want on to the government gravy train. A great way to funnel public donations to your private bank account....not as slick as Palin, but the intent is in the same place. the term Republican voter has become synonymous with the word 'mark". A Con needs his marks.

4. Wait a minute. Isn't this the same "crime" which Newtie used to bring down Jim Wright?
Ethics investigation and resignation

In 1988 Wright became the target of an inquiry by the House Ethics Committee. Their report in early 1989 implied that he had used bulk purchases of his book, Reflections of a Public Man, to earn speaking fees in excess of the allowed maximum, and that his wife, Betty, was given a job and perks to avoid the limit on gifts. Faced with an increasing loss of effectiveness, Wright tendered his resignation as Speaker on May 31, 1989, the resignation to become effective on the selection of a successor.<12> He was the first Speaker to resign because of a scandal. On June 6, the Democratic Caucus brought Wrights's Speakership to an end by selecting his replacement, Tom Foley of Washington, and on June 30 Wright resigned his seat in Congress.

The incident itself was controversial and was a part of the increasing partisan infighting that has plagued the Congress ever since. The original charges were filed by Newt Gingrich in 1988 and their effect propelled Gingrich's own career advancement to the Speaker's chair itself.
