between this and the mortgage related crisis is that the mortgage backed CDS's triggered slowly so the ones first in line made millions and billions before the whole thing came to a stop.
Nobody really knows how many derivatives tied to a Greek default are out there but one thing's for sure, they will all trigger at once. Since we can be certain there is not enough money in the galaxy to cover them anyway, they are in reality worthless now.
