"For the $350 the Bush-Cheney people are being billed for the rental
of LeClaire Park, they earned the right to search young black and
Hispanic students who went there with their teacher to hear the
president speak. His white students, teacher John Vogt said, were
not searched.

He believes the minority students were racially profiled and
considered suspect because of their age and race.

"They made it sound like it was a public event, but when you got
there you realized you had to be a part of the club," he said. "My
students went there to hear the president speak - not to campaign."

But the $350 rental fee to be paid by the Bush campaign committee
cost at least one young woman the indignity of having to publicly
raise her shirt to prove she was not wearing an anti-Bush T-shirt
under her top."
