On Sunday, a celebrating crowd gathered around a burning U.S. armored vehicle. Then a helicopter opened fire; a child and a journalist for an Arabic TV news channel were among those killed. Later, the channel repeatedly showed the journalist doubling over and screaming, "I'm dying; I'm dying."

Such scenes, which enlarge the ranks of our enemies by making America look both weak and brutal, are inevitable in the guerrilla war President Bush got us into. Osama bin Laden must be smiling.

He should be an "unpaid campaign advisor" Those few paragraphs were literally more coherent and more reasoned than anything Kerry has said thus far.

14. Kerry is fighting back

If you think that Kerry is running a "milk toast" campaign, you're falling for the current republican strategy. It's *very* difficult to hear Kerry because the media is full of bush and small, selected sound bites of Kerry. If you could listen to his speeches, you would hear it. He's talking straight and talking about what matters on so many issues.

Do be fooled. Kerry is a strong, intelligent man and will make an excellent president. Our fight is just as much about getting the information as it is about putting it out.

7. Krugman made a mistake

Can Mr. Kerry, who voted to authorize the Iraq war, criticize it? Yes, by pointing out that he voted only to give Mr. Bush a big stick. Once that stick had forced Saddam to let W.M.D. inspectors back in, there was no need to invade.
Inspectors were already back in Iraq before the IWR vote in October.

The truth is that Mr. Bush, by politicizing the "war on terror," is putting America at risk. And Mr. Kerry has to say that.
Howard Dean said that during the primaries. Kerry prefers his nuanced statements, so I don't see Kerry following Krugman's advice.

Kerry cannot win by talking about Economy and Jobs in this election. Is that an issue? Sure. Is that THE issue? Absolutely not. And you can talk about an issue all you want, but if you don't win on THE issue (psst... it *isn't* healthcare) in the election, you still lose. We can't afford to lose. If we lose this because of Kerry's namby-pamby-ness, Kerry will be very high on my shit list. Doesn't he understand what is at stake here? Kerry would be fighting this election tooth and nail if he truly did.
