PICTURES of the moment bombs exploded in a Madrid train station, killing 191 and injuring more than 2,000, have been published for the first time.

The blurred images show three explosions and people fleeing in panic in the first seconds of the March 11 attacks at the Atocha train station.

Spain’s leading El Pais newspaper and the Spanish-language CNN+ showed six consecutive frozen images over an interval of 13 seconds.

The first displays a group of passengers on a platform or taking the escalator while beginning to observe white smoke close to the train.
