Opinion on * and a second term
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 03:20 PM by HypnoToad
Working Link

In Canada, if the Prime Minister took over a record $230 billion surplus and four years later had turned it into a $300 billion plus deficit there would be no fn way that he'd be elected to another term. He'd be toast.

Bush will be the first president since Herbert Hoover to have a net loss of jobs during his tenure. If this was an election in any western democracy but the States they'd throw the bums out just for this singularly inept economic performance. No question.

(snippy)

Which president stubbornly went out of his way to disturb a hornet's nest by cynically invading Iraq, creating waves of potential terrorists from London to Jakarta?

Americans know from reading their newspapers that Bush has turned global public opinion solidly against the US. There have always been America haters, but beheadings on the net are a growth industry. Already many streets, parks and playgrounds through out the world are no longer safe for Americans. Elect Bush to a second term with his sneer and crusade language, his military bombast and his for or agin' us, and terrorists will proliferate and Americans will be rightfully scared to go anywhere, even in the States.

Well written article. The final two paragraphs in it (not mentioned here) are thoughtful indeed.

3. Though your link is not good..I did find the article and I too am worried
for Americans. However, I do not think bush* will be reselected, even if it does end up in the courts...how could the SCOTUS even accept a second decision??

No...bush* is toast! :bounce:

4. I fixed it...

The link was correct, but DU didn't like the space that AJ had used in the URL. It's not an atypical problem and it's odd I didn't see it originally.

Should work fine now.

As for the scOTUS: They picked * out of pure unadultered partisanship and nothing more. I'd be surprised as hell for them to give Kerry the command if they had to pick and choose again. (Indeed, the scOTUS should have gone by the popular vote, which at least was accurate.)
