1. I have wondered this since BushCo took over.

I also have a theory that the original economic shudder, felt early in 2001, was the Democratic majority (those who elected Gore and those who supported Gore but didn't vote) silently screaming, "Oh, shit! I'm going to hold my breath and save every penny until this freak monkey is out of the White House!"
