Condoleezza Rice, my old college professor, stuck to the company line on Iraq.
Then a question from the crowd in Seattle tripped her up.
How would the Bush administration react if the Iraqi people democratically decided to give the United States the boot from their country?
Rice replied: "We'll have to do everything that we can, um, to um, convince ... Iraq that they are going to have (someone) that will be their friend and take their best interest at heart."
Someone means America.
