In the closing weeks of the presidential campaign, the Bush-Cheney team has sunk deeply to the say anything, do anything level.

Make no mistake: The Kerry-Edwards campaign has had its own low moments, but they pale in comparison to the attacks from the GOP orchestrated by Karl Rove and his minions.

In fact, the Democrats are in the minor leagues when it comes to playing down and dirty shortly before voters go to the polls. With little more than one month to go, Republicans are telling voters that John Kerry has the ear of the ''enemy.''

Does anyone really believe that Kerry is a friend of terrorists?
