Posting counter doesn't work

I got 799 as number of posts in the Roy topic and 799 as the number in help with IE post.
Do you get the same number when you post within an hour or so?

on all the posts you've made. So, if this is your 801st post, all other posts will also say 801. Is that what was confusing you?

this surprised me!
But on other topics when posting in the same topic the same number of posts was shown, which I think might be normal.
Then bingo! in this post it added the new post.
So now I am more confused.
As I said with the Roy and IE posts, the number was the same 799.
Inquiring minds want to know? Is it a stray neutron that bungles the number? If so, this is better than all that water in deep mine.

So it wouldn't surprise me to see an occasional glitch here and there. If it concerns you, I'd report it to the admins.
