Just returned from Fourth of July weekend and found my letter
in Thursday's paper. I'm so excited. Here it is:
Investigate 9-11 and Iraq intelligence
Editor, The Post-Crescent:
The hypocrisy of the Bush cabal defies belief. The naivete of
the majority of the people of America leaves me speechless.
It is now becoming quite clear that this administration lied
to the people of America about the intelligence that led to
the invasion and occupation of a foreign country by the United
States.
Bush’s lies led to the deaths of nearly 200 American
servicemen and they are still dying and will keep dying in
Iraq. In addition, more Iraqi civilians were killed in this
“war” than we lost in the World Trade Center attacks.
We all know the reason for the invasion and that is oil. The
Bush administration is run by oil interests and big business.
When the invasion began, the U.S. secured only one building
and that was the Ministry of Oil. The museums, offices and
stores were looted, including areas where weapons (including
possibly plutonium) were left unguarded.
I don’t understand this country. The Clintons fired a few
people in their travel department and we had to have a federal
investigation at taxpayers’ expense and nothing was found. How
many millions did we spend investigating Whitewater and,
again, nothing?
No investigation of why Cheney and his company, Haliburton,
sold millions of dollars of equipment to Saddam Hussein in the
’90s and the same company was awarded a multibillion- dollar
contract to rebuild Iraq.
America, we cannot sit in silence anymore. We have to demand a
complete and unbiased investigation of both 9-11 and the “war”
on Iraq.
By the way, where is Osama? Where is Saddam? Where are those
pesky weapons of mass destruction?
By the way, where did our thriving economy go, while we’re at
it?
