As of Tuesday, July 29, 246 U.S. soldiers have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq, according to military officials.
The British government has reported 43 deaths.
On or since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 110 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to military figures.

Army Spc. William J. Maher III, 35, Yardley, Pa.; killed July 28 by explosive device while traveling in convoy; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based at Ray Barracks, Germany.
Army Pfc. Jonathan M. Cheatham, 19, Camden, Ark.; killed July 26 in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in Baghdad; assigned to the 489th engineer Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, North Little Rock, Ark.
Army Sgt. Heath A. McMillin, 29, Canandaigua, N.Y.; killed by hostile fire July 27 south of Baghdad; assigned to the 105th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, Buffalo, N.Y.
