I am constantly amazed that she continues to be upbeat and positive. I guess after living through Reagan and Dubya's Texas years, she just lets this stuff roll off her back.

I LOVE the nasty mail she generates from the benighted Chicago Trib readers, who'd deny her any voice at all, which is doubly hilarious, in the face of oped writers like Dennis Byrne, Krauthammer, Kathleen Parker, Amity Shlaes (?), plus myriad other jackasses who wouldn't recognize a truthful word if it swam up their P-stream and lodged itself like a candiru in their rotten urinary tracts.
