| The Republican Party are the stuffy shirts who ride First Class |
|
Stay at the Marriott, eat Lobsters, drink fine wine, smoke cigars, and play golf at fancy country clubs. And this is OK. Its like the Titanic flick, the fancy dining room vs the Irish doing the jig in tourist class.
The big but is:: Now that the Pubs control, why is it America has less fun these days?? We not talking about those who enjoy employment and are on the way to the top. No, we talking about those who LOST their jobs and those who FEAR to lose their present jobs. We talking about the misery level here, hello, its gone up these last few years ever since the Pubs got Congress and now that Bush is in the WH, its even worse.
It just seems to me, the Pubs don't want us to have fun anymore. The BBQs around the neighborhood used to have ribs and steaks, now its more like Spam. Vacations used to have meaning and was long ones, now its a quick trip to somewhere near and its back to work. Our quality of life has gone down guys, and me thinks its on the PUBs back.

They could give a shit about your wages, your hardships or your pension plan.
Now, just join the Marines and save them from the towelheads who are sitting on all of that oil.

Nice how we got all wrapped up with the notion ONLY the PUBs care for the MILITARY. What bullshit.
How dare they say these things when Bush/Pubs cut off their economic knees this past year.
The Vets are pissed.

The only time I stayed at the Mariott was when my dad worked for them so we got a discount, now my dad wasnt a excutive or anything, he was a waiter and has told me about his repuke manager. We all drink beer and regular old wine in this household well maybe not the kids but all the kids here have drank, and yes that includes my two year old brother,(dont flame my dad he only gave the kid a sip). I hardly if ever have had lobster. I tell you well I aint working class, my dad probably waited on a lot of these types, and to be honest Opi, Ive heard some classmates talk about how their fathers owned restaurant to be honest I was humbled, I am the middle of the middle I guess.

At least they care about the people and would actually be with real people, and they would proably tip people like my dad. unlike the republicans.

... on the "retired" couples who drive big-ass giant motor homes through the mountains at 15 mph, towing big-ass SUVs behind them.
Their marginal tax rate is not nearly high enough.

| 6. Your analogy reminds me of a question I asked in college |
|
There was a flier on the wall for a Young Republicans group forming. When I saw it, I asked loudly, "My God, there's a Young Republicans group forming? I didn't think there were supposed to BE any Republicans with an education! Someone should really put a stop to this."
One girl said "Of course there are. They're the ones without student loans."
I still tend to mentally divide conservatives and liberals into "Daddy paid for it" and "I'll be using my social security to pay back all these goddamend loans."

"Why don't they just use their gas card so I don't have to wait for them to go inside and pay" (Oblivious to the fact that everybody doesn't have a gas card)
When she was in high school... "I am so sick of wearing uniforms just so the poor kids won't be jealous of rich kids" (And my sister is NOT rich!)
And the grand finale, her career plan, get this....
Become a psychologist and open a private practice and treat ONLY rich people!! Oh the compassion!!!!
I love her, but holy cow!

| 7. The Neocons will turn us all into economic serfs... |
|
O Sleeping Limpet (I keep trying to translate your name, Opihi)-- I think the Neocons are planning to live in gated communities with the rest of us living in serfdom. By the time Bush's pals finish starving the public school system, I wonder if my as-yet-unborn grandkids will even be able to get an education. Bush Senior gave us "trickle down economics," which my mind always heard as "we're being pissed on." Now Bush II is giving us "economic stimulus," which my poor cynical brain is hearing as "we're being diddled and nothing good will come of it." Both blue collar and white collar jobs are being sent overseas--what will we do to make a living, have out of work engineers fight the poor migrant farmworkers for the privilege of picking broccoli? I keep asking myself what these people can be thinking, and I keep coming back to gated communities for them and serfdom for the rest of us.
~~~On the whole, I prefer not to be lectured on patriotism by those who keep offshore maildrops in order to avoid paying their taxes. ~Molly Ivins~
and the downward spiral many of us endure, caught in the republican vortex known as a nightmare.
Only one way to end it, bring society back to the freedom it once had, back to FREEDOM FROM REPUBLICAN LIES/DECIET/THEFT. Get your families and buddies to VOTE the Pubs outta office
