Wish I had taped it from the getgo. Russert has met his match - this guy is terrific! Unfortunately, he is so good, they are going to have to kill him to shut him up.

| 11. As far as Bushler attempts to have Clarke "removed" |
|
Anyone think that Clarke might have a, "we'll cover your back" type of deal from the CIA or other intelligence agency? Just my speculation here, but with the recent attempts by Bush to blame his own PNAC inspired screwup on supposedly bogus intelligence from the CIA, I wouldn't be at all surprised that was the case.

I hope you're right of course, but the last three and a half years have taught me that, above all, Americans are just about as stupid as God made it possible for humans to be.

"Americans are just about as stupid as God made it possible for humans to be." This is true, sadly, and may still be the undoing of Kerry's chances in November. Americans, by their actions, show that they have no ability to think critically. When I see poll #s that show Bush at 47% or so, I am just appalled. Anyone who is not comatose should have been able to figure it out by now.

| 13. With the RW machine distributing talking points to the RW Radio hosts |
|
The daily hypnosis will likely continue.
One RW Radio host is screamong that Clarke only donated to Democrats.
That point is unanswered and will likely ring true. They did the same to Wes Clark and that point stuck. IT stuck here @ DU. Even though it isn't true.

| 7. I agree, Clarke is simply extraordinary |
|
Russert is throwing out every RW talking point and Clarke is calmy, rationally shooting them down as blatant falsehoods.
Clarke is doing the country a vital service, he is single handedly puncturing the right wing bubble.

| 8. Please don't gloat. We can't afford to do that. |
|
The worst thing we can do is to start becoming complacent. I'm already seeing a lot of people here start to take it for granted that Bush will be gone in November, but he's still neck-and-neck with Kerry, not significantly lagging, and he's got large enough campaign coffers to make sure he stays in the running.
The election is still seven months away. That's a fairly long time, especially when you're talking about the fickle, wishy-washy fence-sitter voters who will decide the election.
And Bush may not be intelligent, but he can certainly be very cunning. Don't underestimate his ability to save his skin, even if at the last moment.
