I find it pretty centrist, with a slight rightward bias. Ask a republican, and they say it's left-wing.

5. There was a guy on Dobbs today from Brookings

He seemed to be a little left leaning - well, maybe not exactly left leaning but he wasn't afraid to criticize the administration - which probably makes him more of a centrist. But still....so many of these think tanks are clearly in the neocon pocket that it just made me wonder.

9. Brookings and RAND are the two most reputable.

These two, which started on the "right" (RAND) and "left" (Brookings), are not considered probably the most objective and non-ideological policy analyses shops. There is still a slight right/left bias in these two thinktanks, but they are both well-regarded.

It doesn't come with an ideological axe like Heritage. It's not necessarily always right, but it's fairly dry and academic, but puts out some good stuff.
