| Did Clinton EVER blame anything on Bush I? |
|
I can't recall anyone in the Clinton administration or Bill Clinton himself eveer blaming the Bush I or Reagan administrations for any problems they encountered and, we all know, they deserved tons of it.
Even during the Sonalia fiasco, I can't recall Clinton blaming Bush I for getting us into this mess.
Contrast that with the Bush II Cabal - passing the buck, blame the Clintonites, etc. etc.
Why can't ONE of them stand up and take the blame for anything?

| 1. No, he never did........... |
|
He never blamed the Bush I admin for not doing something about the Branch Davidians in Waco, TX sooner.....
He never blamed the Bush I admin for not preventing the first WTC bombing.......
He never blamed the Bush I admin for not keeping track of who was buying how much ammonium nitrate that could be used to make bombs.....
Bill Clinton was an adult.

Not a manipulated, incompetent, whiner-slob, I-got-no-personal-balls playground bully wannabe. I see! A real grownup.

|
He used facts not opinions or guesses.
Newt and CBO Head June O'Neill said he presented the most honest budgets in history.
His budgets used CBO assumptions which were modest ones.
He did not spread the bull on his numbers.
The markets trusted his numbers for they saw they were realistic not exaggerations.
Clinton had a great team of learned honest people.

to anybody, but instead to focus his energy on fixing problems and making the world a better place.
Quite a contrast to the current limpballs excuse for a man currently occupying the White House, huh?

|
That's about all I can remember. Maybe related to a tax cut at the beginning of his admin.
Amazing how we had eight years of peace and prosperity, enjoyed great international relations, suffered minimal casualties from terrorism, but suddenly, as of 01/21/2001, everything Clinton did was wrong and ruined the country.
I hope President Kerry lays out the true state of the union in his first major press conference. It's time we played the blame game, too. Why should "the party of personal responsibility" have all the fun?

but that's because Poppy deserved it. He coined the phrase "Voodoo Economics" and went and did it anyway.

I'd be interested to know if Clinton even said "Bush" or "previous administration". :)
I don't recall him ever doing so, certainly not for the specifics that have been cited here already.
On edit: really bad spelling!

I'd be interested in how a psychiatrist would diagnose the mental condition of the rethugs, and how they never, ever take responsibility for the consequences of their actions. What's up with their overblown sense of entitlement, their inability to connect with reality, their extreme revulsion of the truth, and their excessive need to blame others?

| 9. How About Waco & WTC '93?? |
|
The wingnuts can't screetch loud enough of how boy blunder only had 8 months on the job vs. Clinton's 8 years.
Well...then how about the two messes Clinton came into office with...Branch Davidians (which was a Poppy enterprise...maybe he wanted the turf for a future pig farm for junior) and the first WTC bombing that happened ONE MONTH after Clinton took office.
Yep, they blame Ruby Ridge on Clinton as well. Sheesh. It was under his Justice Department that Randy Weaver got some semblence of respect back. Why not blame all these messes, and others on the previous 4years of Poppy or the 12 of Poppy and Raygun? Cause, in '92, the economy was so screwed up that was the major concern and we knew who made the mess, just like we do now, we just had to clean things up.
BTW...ya notice how the flying monkeys have a real problem with the second worst act of terrorism on American soil...Oklahoma City. Seems they not only forget how Clinton handled that (credit goes to all law enforcement involved) and that it was one of their own. Ooops!

Other already hit on that one...and I love when the wingnuts say how Clinton ran from that one...I ask what Poppy would have done...they go silent.
Remember how skittish the wingnuts and military types were to using Apache hellicopters in Kosovo, but now it's like it's nothing, or the "price for freedom" or whatever when one goes down. Sadly, I expect we'll see more scenes like Mogadishu throughout Iraq and other parts of the Middle East the way this regime is sending us.

You asked "Why can't ONE of them stand up and take the blame for anything?"
Richard Clarke did. And they are assassinating his character for it.

| 18. Bill Clinton--Man of Great Character |
|
never alibied in his life.
worked his way thru college
never boasted
never whined
told staff to never demean an opponent.
worked butt off to make life better for others.
Bill Clinton earned his way into life and his positions of responsibility the old fashioned way--hard work.
Bill Clinton never despised anyone.
Bill Clinton has a deep religious faith and does not wear it on his sleeve. In 1980, when his opponent Frank White was using his church affiliations Clinton was asked to do the same. His reply:"I will never use my religion for political purposes".
Signs of Greatness.
Few greater men than Bill Clinton. God Bless him.

Denial of what? Bush is an ass - we see that every day, in everything from the unemployment rate to the mess in Iraq. If they have blind hero worship of him, THEY are the ones in deep denial.

The original posts worship of clinton as some sort of living god, is just as bad as those who support bush. I'm not in any way equating bush to clinton, i'm stating that blind devotion to any person is dangerous and foolhardy.
Clinton did plenty of bad things in office, i'm certainly no clinton-basher, but let's be a little more honest about our appraisal of his presidency.
