I Thought Dean and Graham Were Great on "Larry King Live"

While I didn't think Dean's performance on "MTP" was a disaster, it also wasn't great. I thought he was much better tonight. He was firm, but not overly caustic. He seemed to focus more on his vision than bashing the president. And Graham reaffirmed a lot of Dean's points while showing that he's knowledgeable. Does anyone else agree with me?

1. Both did well, neither blew it away

Dean looked nervous, but spoke well.

Graham did well, although I've seen him do better. He did mention the "rhetoric" about homeland security which has not been backed up by funding and support.

keep in mind that Graham authored the National Seaport Security Act, it is a very big interest of his, particularly as a Floridian, for we have so many ports thanks to our peninsula geography

I think a majority of Americans would agree that more dollars need to be spent on homeland security

The tone and sentence makes me think that you forgot the "not".

6. Shouldn't this be in GD? Hate to be a snivelling hall-monitor but

...there seems to be a lot of inappropriate stuff in "Editorials" all of a sudden. It's annoying when you can't rely on being led to an actual, published editorial, which is what this forum is for, as opposed to just another GD-type discussion.

When I came down and decided to post, the GD section wasn't up. I wasn't looking very carefully, though, so I posted both in this section and the editorial section before noticing it was gone.

10. Running Mate

I was very intrigued by Dean's response to who might be his running mate. While he said it would be pretty arrogant to be deciding that now, he did say that he wants somone with Washington experience (to help him navigate the political scene), and preferrably, a southerner.

Hmmm. Graham? Edwards, perhaps?

11. "Larry, I am the center..."

That was a telling moment for me. When Dean explained that the Repubs and many Dems in our own Party had gone too far to the right. So naturally, he is left of them even if he is in the center, which is true.
