| Here is simple strategy to defeat Repubs in recall election. |
|
Don't even mention Gray Davis in the ads. "Just say NO!" Just like Nancy Reagan said in her ads against drugs. Because if the majority of people vote "NO", then all other votes are irrelevant. It doesn't matter how many votes Arnold gets.
Just vote NO is a simple and winning message because most Californians believe it is not right to try and overthrow the results of a legitimate election, no matter how much they dislike Gray Davis. They also understand the hypocrisy of the whole effort - claiming that deficits are awful in CA but they're OK in Washington.
Don't worry about running against the personalities. Don't worry about putting another Democrat on the ticket. Just vote NO! Send the outsiders back to Texas or Washington or wherever they came from. This is the winning strategy in California. Also, it is easy to vote no.

Too many dems have seen it as making aname for themselves and won't go along with it. Your's is a simple solutuion and so obvious--scvary that the California Dems are too dumb to even understand this.

| 2. Sounds like a good strategy to me |
|
It probably wouldn't hurt to send the Davis campaign a letter about that.

| 3. We can't decide that... yet. |

I'm waiting for the field to firm up after this weekend. Let's get Bustamante as the only prominent Democrats--uniting our various constituencies. If Simon or McClintock emerge as serious contenders, which I expect, it would not be a "two-man race." I wish Deukmejian would run--that'd be great.

| 7. Bustamante says vote no |
|
He said the other might that people should vote against he recall and then vote for him. I think that is the best plan.

| 4. A lot of people will vote "NO" and vote for Arnie also... |
|
But "NO" is the most popular vote on the ballot. :)

| 5. This recall is going nowhere. |

Wait for the hype to die down surrounding the Viennese Weightlifter and Davis will keep his position.

| 6. Will they outsmart the Democrats on this one ? |
|
The Democrats need to go with their gut feelings and ignore the media. The media will steer them wrong.

| 8. Will Arnold promise not to do any performance work for the duration? |
|
He should, shouldn't he? He should be coerced into promising that he will not make any movies, do any guest appearances or anything of the like. This should happen now.
