Has there been any followup on the Damascus explosions/gunfire?

What was that? Did I miss something? I know what was reported, but haven't seen any followup as to who or why...

1. I recall 5-10 dead on the bombers' side,
and some State Department flunky saying it was all a ploy by Assad to head off sanctions against Syria--probably in preparation for Operation Rubber Chicken or Pustulent Narwhal or whatever...
