And the guy sure is nimble for someone who had one leg amputated two years ago. Does anyone remember which leg was amputated? And - he shure gets around for someone with a prostetic leg.

...on this tape, because it was so obviously dubbed.

And yes,he was spry as hell for a guy with one leg, even if he'd had an expertly fitted, state of the art prosthesis, something about as likely as the Pope on a pogo stick.

4. Weighing in on the "dubbed" part only.

I disagree that it was dubbed. The slipping audio (it has even slipped a little already when Berg finishes his very short speaking) is not at all uncommon for windows media format and especially where multiple pieces have been spliced together.

It could just as easily be faked.

2. Overlooking the obvious

Which story was the REAL lie?

Was the amputation/link to al Queda story a lie?

or:

Was the claim that it was Zarqawi in the tape a lie?

The point is both can't be true!

Somebody is lying to us either way.

The CIA has a credibility problem.

Not only are they suspected of lies, but even when they aren't lying (for the sake of argument) they're WRONG!

They've been wrong so much, how can we believe anything they say.

Of course the ever radical MSNBC reported last month that they had three clear shots at al-Zaqwari (sp?) and didn't do it because it would weaken their case for war. They repeated the misleading "alQaeda is IN Iraq" over and over and the press never took the time to ask: Where (in Norhtern no fly zone area out of Saddam's reach or For What (to overthrow Saddam).

The leg amputation was the reason that al-Zaqwari "received medical attention in Baghdad" which again was never followed up upon by the press and the implication that Saddam MUST have known about it was allowed to continue.

Welcome to DU.

Don't forget we "probably killed" Saddam twice (first night of war and the restaruant) before we captured him AND we "killed" Chemical Ali a month before we captured him so a leg growing back is nothing really.

6. Need to know

Why is it that the CIA couldn't verify the idenity of Saddam on tapes released during the war or Osama? They have tons of tapes of both of these men and always said we are not sure 100% But the can ID this guy right away? Something smells funny here.

front and center, and they cannot agree on who the man is;
give them video of a fake-voice man covered from head to toe
and they peg him as Zarqawi in a New York second!

I also believe he lost a testicle during the time he lost his leg and now his voice is easy to idenify..Zarqawi voice has a very high octave pitch.
