| I think that it is very important to have a better name for the BFEE. |
|
Sometimes I try to explain the whole thing to someone who has no clue and it just doesn't work to start with "The Bush Family Evil Empire..........." "Vast rightwing conspiracy" doesn't work because the media has ridiculed it so much. "Military Industrial complex" somehow hasn't worked either.
How about the Bush New World Order? (rightwingers have already done some work promoting this name.) After all, Bush Sr. uttered the words New World Order so they can't be easily dismissed.
I did a Google search for Bush Family Evil Empire and got 85,000 hits. For Bush New World Order there are over 1,500,000 hits.
Any opinions?

| 1. Try "The Bush* Crime Family" |
|
Actually, when I get accused of being a conspiracist, I explain that there is no conspiracy. The word "conspiracy" suggests a secret plan. I tell people that these people have not hidden their aims; They just don't publicize them.
Then I start talking about how people, all people, vote according to how they perceive their interests. Just as I wouldn't vote for someone who promises to take all of my money, so too do the rich and powerful (note: never just "the rich"). I tell people that rich people do no need to have their fellow conspiracists tell them what their own interests are - They already know!! That's why there's no need for any conspiracy. The "conspiracists" already know what they want, and who is willing to give it to them.
Then I start explaining the views of right-wing organizations like Heritage, Scaife, Cata, Manhattan Institute, PNAC, etc. If possible, I show them their websites. That's usually a real eye-opener

I'm just thinking about how sometimes there is just enough time to use a phrase and perhaps Bush New World Order might not be quite as easily dismissed as "conspiratorial."
I wonder if any of the candidates has a phrase to summarize what we are up against?

| 3. The phrase comes *AFTER* the propoganda |
|
not before. Phrases work because the condense numerous ideas into one pithy phrase. Before you can have a phrase that catches on, you first have to have the ideas out there in people's head because if the ideas aren't there, then the phrase won't have anything to "catch onto"
We're at Ground Zero. We have to begin at the beginning. We can't jump to the endpoint. We need to get our ideas out there and shape the way people think before we can exploit those thoughts with catch-phrases

And I never did understand why people ridiculed Hillary's use of "vast right wing conspiracy." Perhaps she should have said vast right wing network.

| 9. It's the word "conspiracy" |
|
People think, and for good reason, that a conspiracy as big as this requires that a large # of people know about it, and that makes them think that if so many people know about it, someone would have talked about it.
They don't know that people have spoken about it. She should have spoken of "the right-wing spin machine"

she could have woken up a lot of people. I think that Americans always dismiss conspiracy theories because we want to believe in the Great American Dream of equal opportunity on a level playing field for everyone.

because more than anything else they are mafioso. They are simply criminals a syndicate of criminal associates.
New World Order has too much of a black helicopter/militia association.

2 to 4 trillion dollars of tax money that went to the Pentagon is unaccounted for. That's 2 to 4 million million dollars. Most observers believe the money went to "black" programs. This has unquestionably created an organization of unprecedented size and power.
The only entity which could, in theory, rein-in this ‘shadow government’ is the elected US government. Now, it is well known that the CIA routinely rigs the elections in countries we wish to control. Does anyone here really believe they wouldn't, for the sake of their own preservation, intervene in OUR elections and/or seek to influence who is elected?

| 10. CABAL: Bush Organized Crime Family |
|
Great idea, barbarann! In a secret war of crooks, spies and traitors, it is a complicated, but necessary, thing to name the enemy.
While difficult, the only way to raise awareness of them is to shine the light of day on them. With operations and criminal activities so vast, and conspiracies so convoluted and widespread and long-running, few could believe it possible. That's why it's important to describe them as they call themselves, the "Cabal."
As noted by the good DUers above, the Cabal is composed of gangsters and arch-criminals of a kind that not even an Ian Fleming would dare dream possible — phony "Superpatriots" hoisted upon the public by their controlled mass media. And yet, they are only stooges for a secret fascistic and satanic ruling elite that is the real center of power in America.
Let's bust the Cabal. And put 'em to work busing rocks and making license plates. For the Bush Organized Crime Family, it will be their first day of honest work.
