| Disappointed in Bill Richardson - re Padilla case |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-01-04 04:55 PM by sierra_moon
Wolf Blitzer asked Richardson if he had any problems with how Padilla is being handled, giving him a great opening to castigate the breach of constitutional rights that the Justice Dept. is committing, but Richardson just waved it away, saying he had no problem with it, and then he immediatedly segued into the lack of communication between the Homeland Security Dept and Justice, which has nothing at all to do with the question at hand. He even said it twice, that he has "no problem" with the enemy combatant issue and how Bush is handling it.
I was shocked and disappointed. What -- it has come to the point where Democrats in office are afraid to say that American citizens have rights?
I used to like the guy.

I am disgusted over the treatment of American citizen Padilla.
And I do not trust one word from our government regarding him.
Because no one has answered my question: Can Padilla read?
