| The spin on Iraq from the regime is getting downright humorous. |
|
Just heard on NPR some comments from Bremer re the Iraqi people:
Yes, there is fighting going on in the cities, but most of the rest of the country is peaceful -- Yeah? You mean the part where nobody lives?
The Iraqi people should measure the US success there by the new "freedoms" they have, not the things they lack. Yeah, like electricity as they swelter in 120 degree heat, water, gas, phone service. It's hard to enjoy freedom to travel when you can't wash or buy gas to get anywhere. I bet Bremer has plenty of water and AC.
We haven't killed THAT many civilians -- and cites no statistics.
Rebuilding this country is a big task, and we have no idea where the $$$ is going to come from. So much for the Iraqi people having a reliable water and electricity supply so they have the comfort to enjoy their new "freedoms".

| 2. Or Lt. Gen. Sanchez re what every American needs to believe? |
|
I.e., that if we (the military) fail in this environment(Iraq), the next battlefield will be in the streets of America!
As I posted elsewhere, guess this means the all powerful (n on-existant) Iraqi army and navy will be landing on the shores of Melbourne, Florida and parachuting in to Sioux Falls - _
