Thanks to their right-wing politics and warmongering the early to mid 80s was a heyday of poltiical pop music.

I cant think of any time since the 1960s that I heard so much protest music, and alot of it was pretty darn good too.

This was also an era of political organizing...like the SANE/FREEZE movement, and the anti-war in Central America movement.

So, there is a bit of a positive legacy of these two right wing politicians, as they acted to mobilize an oppostiion and develope a culture of dissent, which was reflected in the music of the day.
