| Iran/Contra - Reagan broke the law |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-07-04 11:26 PM by spanone
He created creatures like Oliver North. Reagan sold weapons to Iran then used the money to support the contras in Nicaragua: a policy which was banned by Congress. He bypassed the checks and balances we have that make democracy what it is. No wonder bush* fancies himself a Reagan wannbe. http://www.webcom.com/pinknoiz/covert/icsummary.html

Presidents don't feel they have to abide by the laws of the land. It's a sure bet if Joe citizen disobeys the law he'd be snapped up in a heartbeat and put on trial for it. What's wrong with this picture??

| 4. only REPUBLICAN presidents can override the law of the land |
|
republican presidents can traffic in drugs, negotiate with hostage-takers, arm the enemy, accept mansions as bribes, and on and on and on.
democratic presidents, by contrast, can be impeached for fudging about an irrelevant matter in a dismissed case that never should have been brought in the first place.
