swallow. Getting G. Jr. after Clinton and instead of Gore in there was even more unreal. I don't think any of them got there legitimately prior to 2000 now that I think about it :tinfoilhat:. George, Jr. was definitely appointed.

As did the moderates--who back then had a lot more clout within the party. Bush then changed his position on abortion, denied ever saying "voodoo economics" and gave the ticket someone with Washington experience.
