I'd hate to miss it if I ever made their list. There's nothing more amusing than when mentally feeble people start attacking ideas they can't understand. But I can't spend anymore time at FR. I've found the more time I spend there the more militant and angry I get, and I'd hate to let those savages rob me of my sense of decency and goodness.

I've been trying to understand where the "other half" is coming from, especially in light of the Reagan media fiasco. I find myself caring less and less, realizing that there are more constructive and positive ways to use my time.

I have a theory about freeps. They LOVE this shit. Totally ignoring them? That would piss them the hell off. After all, their site design already sucks. What else would they have? Three freepers come to another forum I post on and I have noticed when everyone just ignores them they start to go seriously POSTAL. So we've all learned to not even respond to anything they say. That REALLY pisses them off.

Now, I hope no one kicks this thread so it dies.

post here mildly at 1st then become agent provacotuers, stirring up the Left and attempting to make this site seem wak. I have been noticing more freeper type of remarks right after Raygoon's body expired, ie pro remarks and ones castigating other posters for their views. That is unavoidable but if the Mods are sure a poster is only posting to stir up trouble should they ban that poster?

7. I'm new to forums

and I really had never considered posting to any site such as DU. I had no idea DU existed. I have a friend that suggested I got to FR. (I question my friends intent and the depth of the friendship now.)

Well, being a forum virgin, I entered the FR world and signed up to reply after a posting had me curious. I would post replies asking questions, then when "facts" were relayed bolstering the FReepers position, I would ask for a link or a source. Then, if I posted facts contrary to the FReepers, they would become indignant. Silly me, I thought that was the purpose of the site Free being the first part of the title (Free speech, freedom of ideas, yada yada).

Well, before you know it, my replies and requests for information were too much for the others. I was attacked, called a liberal, a member of the ACLU, a democrat, a human rights nut, you name it. I guess they thought it bothered me. I told them,yes, I was a liberal as were our founding fathers and boy howdy, they went nutts.

My posts incensced them so, they tracked me, attacked me, posted replies belittling my age, my education, and then, they had my posting rights revoked. Every typo or misspelled word gave them such a sense of brillance, how superior they were. I could not even respond to the as they challenged me to give them facts, to back up my words with proof.

Well, that is my experience with FReepers and if they want to post here, I have no problem with that. I believe in Freedom of speech.
I am not afraid of different thoughts, different perspectives, different views. I may read them, but they don't change mine.

Anyway, like I said, I am new to this, but I sure like DU better than FR - its nice to know that others share some of my views and not everyone is a nutball conservative pro-war hypocrite.

Oddly enough, it was FR who lead me to DU, they were so outraged by Reagan posts, they included a link. Guess it was good to start there, it helped me appreciate DU.

Was interesting reading your story of how you found your way here.

I don't understand people getting pissed off when asked for their sources of their "facts" either. Unless they don't have any.

The way I see it is that a lot of people at FR don't understand the difference between a fact and an opinion!

I can't visit over there too much, though, because it depresses me about the state of our country.

I think that is what got me in trouble. I couldn't stand their jokes about the abuse at the prisons. One guys said that there was no physical abuse. I suggested he sign up for the same type of treatment and then report back to all of us after he was through. I had kindly offered to be sure they had enough glow sticks to aggressively insert in his body cavities, but he wasn't interested. Panties on the head and all that is not abuse, its just boys being boys.

ended up in freepville after googling some Michael Moore stuff and found it hilarious and depressing at the same time. Figured if those nutbags hated DU so much there must be something in it.

It has been much better on DU. I also learned to be nice to freepers when they show up, I don't have to agree with them, but personal attacks are out of the question and no troll reporting from me.

If they want to post, then let them post.
