It seems they're dealing with the crisis with a huge slice of equanimity. I don't think I'd be so patient. Kudos to them!

New Yorkers may actually see the stars tonight. In the sky I mean. So much light pollution normally, do they ever see a night sky?

and I will say that they are being exceptionally cool during this recent situation.
I was born and bred there, and for all of the garbage one hears about NYC, let me tell you, put 10 million people together anywhere, and you will have some problems, but the vast majority of NY'ers, are what you saw on TV tonight.
What I found bothersome, was the media, pushing the "night time jitters". There indeed may be some problems, but they will be minimal. What was repulsive, was some geek on FOX saying that when night comes on, the city will be a whole different place. That is ridiculous, NYC will be the same as it always is, maybe a little safer, there are an awful lot of people on the streets.
Humanity at one of it's better moments.

| 4. I was living in NY in the raly 70's one night |
|
the lights went out for a night and we heard on the radio about looting all over the place but in our neighborhood, everyone just sat on their stoops and visited, and I went swimming in a neighbor's pool because it was hot.
