What a crock of calcified cattle cack. :eyes:
President who? I know there's a Bush in office, but the last I recall he lost the electoral vote and popular vote and had to cheat and swindle and get the support of his partisan court buddies to rig it for him.

One day, when Clinton dies, the flags will also be lowered for 30 days. You won't object to that, will you?
Like him or not, he was our President for 8 years. And that alone merits respect.

Yep, Bush lost the electoral vote. They meant to inaugurate Gore, but Dick Cheney used his corporate influence to send in a commando team to white-out Gore's name and write in Bush's instead. And while they were at it, the commandos planted phony WMD evidence just for kicks. I tell ya, they sure pulled the wool over our eyes on that one.
But seriously... good God, are you still whining about Florida? The National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago (heavily Democratic area, by the way!) conducted an independent review afterwards.
A summary:
"The National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago conducted the six-month study for a consortium of eight news media companies, including CNN.
NORC dispatched an army of trained investigators to examine closely every rejected ballot in all 67 Florida counties, including handwritten and punch-card ballots."
Their conclusions:
"Suppose that Gore got what he originally wanted -- a hand recount in heavily Democratic Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Volusia counties. The study indicates that Gore would have picked up some additional support but still would have lost the election -- by a 225-vote margin statewide."
Get over it already! :eyes:
If Bush wins in 2004, what are you going to chalk the loss up to this time? I'm reminded of a sports team that loses a close game in overtime and then blames the loss on the fans, the refs, the game clock, the weather, everyone and everything but themselves. If the Democrats spent half as much energy preparing for 2004 as they did complaining about 2000, they'd have the election wrapped up. But I guarantee that many people were alienated from the Democrats by the sore-loser attitude shown during the election aftermath.

Because of the 30 day mourning period at half-staff. A few places have raised them back up though.

| 8. 30 days is standard for the death of a president... |
|
...any flag that is up is wrong. Everything that sucks about this country sucks because of Reagen but let's give him his 30 days without complaint. It's just the right thing to do.
