| 3. A couple of paragraphs worth highlighting |
|
The exploitation of that day is a recurring theme, from gadgets designed for the fearful masses to the passage of the Patriot Act to the invasion of Iraq. Mass media manipulation and the clear bias of reporters is nicely held up to the light, a good jolt for those who solely depend on CNN or Fox for their news. Fahrenheit 9/11 upsets that complicity by triggering questions and shaking up the luxurious oblivion affordable to Americans who are so far and detached from the war that they don't have to consider its reality. <snip> Also compelling is footage of businessmen at a conference discussing the financial glories that they and their companies will reap from the invasion of Iraq. Some of these guys are so hopped-up you can practically see them drooling. With a smile, one of the businessman states, "It's going to be good for business, bad for the people."

Are "reviewing" the film as well on their sites. Unfortunately, they haven't actually seen it. We have. ;)

| 9. "the haves and the have mores".... |

This part is certainly very telling.
<snip> Moore doesn't delve into Bush's religious pandering to evangelicals, but if any of them catch this film they may have trouble rectifying Bush's war for profit, that is if they truly are "pro-life." And those who view Bush as a good 'ol down home kind of guy may have this image shattered after seeing clips like the one where he stands, all decked-out, before a crowd of moneyed folks and jests, "This is an impressive crowd - the haves and the have mores. Some people call you the elite, I call you my base."
