Rumor had it that it would take spotlight from Kerry...I think it's an incorrect assertion, personally.

| 4. I saw Pat Buchanan on The McGlauglin Group last night and he |
|
thinks Clinton will energize the democratic base and the republican base. All of the Clinton haters will come out in force to support Bush.
I think the republicans are scared shitless of Clinton and need to spin this in an effort to scare Kerry.
Embrace Clinton! He can remind the public of what a competent President looks like!

| 8. Yup. That was exactly how they successfully scared Gore into running |
|
away from Clinton. I think Kerry knows what is going on based on what happened to Gore. It has been almost four years. Only the freepers and some hard core Limbaughites are hanging on the the most virulent type of hate and they are going to the polls regardless of whether or not Kerry uses Bill Clinton. If they really thought he was going to help Bush they would not be running an anti Clinton commercial during 60 Minutes. What would be the point if you thought he was helping your guy. Utter BS.

| Also on MacLaughlin, Pat TRASHED the neocons.... |
|
Truth be told, as much as I detest Buchanan and his vile sister Bay (at the moon) Buchanan, I have to say that Pat HATES Bush and the neocons and much they have fucked up this country. Buchanan despises this war as much as we do. Hard to believe. I still hate Buchanan. Oh, by the way, I am getting married in two weeks. Cultural conseravtives, be damned.

for giving Bush the power to go to war. I think Pat is a Bush apologist because he blames everyone but Bush. He blames congress, the neocons and advisors BUT not Bush.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Edited to add: I think Clinton can also energize the African-American base. That is just MHO.

|
it seemed to me that last night Buchanan was saying that bush was being led by the neocons, that the neocons and the PNAC philosophy are fucking this country up. Maybe not a direct slam at bush, but a slam nonetheless. Maybe?

| 20. He does have a book coming out that won't help Bush at all. |
|
From what I gather. I heard Pat on Imus the other morning and he would not blame Bush, he only wanted to blame congress.
It is hard to tell exactly what his intentions are. He is a conservative in the end and I am wondering, if he is "against Bush" does that mean he is going to throw his support behind Kerry or will he throw his support behind Nader? I am sure we will find out in the next month or so.
It is hard to tell with Pat because like McCain, he still a republican.

at the Democratic Unity dinner...his speech about Kerry elevated Kerry...Clinton MADE people want to run out and vote for him that night...Fox is simply stating they will USE his book to help Bush
BTW Kerry's a hell of a lot closer to Clinton in stature than Bush is to Reagan

did Reagan's death take the focus off Bush? I think not given his boost in the polls. Most people liked Bill with the exception of one unfortunate incident, and no one is going to associate Monicagate with Kerry, that would just be ridiculous.

| 30. I only watch FOX to check in a see what lies they are telling.... |
|
I need to know what propaganda they are spreading on FOX, so I can find proof that it's a lie. My sister, Father, step-mother, are all Bush supporters....I need to understand how they are being brain-washed so I can try to de-program them before the election. FOX is the devil channel as far as I am concerned....but recently I have noticed CNN and MSNBC are reporting a lot of the same stuff FOX is. It makes me mad because it doesn't seem there is any way to get the truth. Let's face it.............half the country still thinks Bush should be re-elected, and that's because of TV. The real truth is in reading but most Americans just buy whatever they hear on TV, how do you counter that????

You see, some idiots would be telling everyone how great it is so people would buy it. But those clever devils at FAUX are trying to blunt its impact. They sure are smart, eh? Wait. or maybe they know it will hurt Chimp and they're just saying it will help so Dems doen't buy it. Hmmmmmm.

|
and the sign on the door said, "We will be opening one hour early on Tuesday, June 22nd, for sales of President Clinton's book". Ha. Ha. I love how they said "President Clinton". I, of course, went in and put my name on the list for a copy. All of us here at DU should make sure we buy the book so it can do exactly what Hillary's book did - beat all sales expectations! (I got 40% off because I ordered early.)
