EDWARDS ANNOUNCES VIRGINIA ENDORSEMENTS

In advance of a campaign swing through Virginia next week, U.S. Sen. John Edwards' presidential campaign on Friday announced the endorsements of 13 Democratic elected officials there, including the minority leader in the state House of Delegates.
Edwards plans to campaign in the state on Monday and Tuesday -- time sandwiched between bus trips through Iowa and New Hampshire. Virginia holds a Feb. 10 primary next year.

The Virginia officials endorsing Edwards include Minority Leader Del. Frank Hall; Del. Albert Pollard; Arlington County Board Vice Chair Barbara Favola; Del. Benny Keister; Del. Bill Barlow; Del. Clarence "Bud" Phillips; Arlington County Board Member Chris Zimmerman; Richmond's Commonwealth Attorney David Hicks; Arlington County School Board Chairman Frank Wilson; Arlington County School Board Vice Chairwoman Libby Garvey; Alexandria City Council member Ludwig Gaines; state Sen. Phil Puckett; and Del. Ward Armstrong.
