| 10. That was a DAMN good book on politics. |

I rank it up there with Mike Roykos "Boss" as a good journalistic take on poltiics.
I think thats where the term "politics junky" comes from. HST has that down, for sure, esp if anyone heres' ever been involved in politics or campaigns.

Thompson and Kerry may have first met while Thompson was writing the reports that made up the book; Kerry isn't mentioned by name, but Thompson wrote about the "infamous" medal-throwing at the White House and the VVAW's demonstration at the Republican National Convention in Miami Beach.

soon come. Kerry '04! Hunter's the MAN. He needs to be more vocal about the choices facing us this November though. I haven't heard too much from him about it. Who'd a thunk it, the voice of reason being HST's.

I can't wait to read it with Mr. Kerry in the WH. HST is the be-all-end-all of great political journalists and his observations are beyond normal human assumptions. He had the balls to call out Clinton in '92 (which many of his observations turned out to be true...) He's a true patriot if ever one existed in this modern world. He stands for America and I nominate HST for the $10 bill!!!

"Just to put your minds all at ease, I have four words for you that I know will relieve you greatly," Kerry told the fund-raiser. "How does this sound — Vice President Hunter Thompson." http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&u=/ap/20040621/ap_on_el_pr/kerry_11&printer=1

go back before 1968...Unfortunately, (for us, from the photos) he looks very old and tired...but I know he'll make it through the Nov. 2nd election...And we'll be graced with the finest writings, wit and TRUTH of the campaign...He's still with us...
I can't hope for more...
Long live Gonzo journalism!!!!
And fuck traditional (no soul, lies) AP bullshit "journalism".

The jury is still out... except for that "HST is my literary hero" part. :D
