Richard Roeper has been defending Howard in articles he's been writing lately so Howard brought that up and wondered why he's like one of the only guys defending him. Roeper went off on this Senator Brownback who says that these indecency laws are what the country wants. Roeper doesn't know why he's saying that because he doesn't think that's the case. Ebert talked about how that everyone who voted for that indecency thing was voting against the country and against freedom of speech.

They also talked about ''Fahrenheit 9/11'' and why it got an R rating. Ebert said there is some violent stuff in the movie. They talked about how ridiculous the ratings are for movies because every kid has heard every curse word already and they can get on the internet and see the beheadings that are going on out there.
Ebert said he didn't watch the beheadings because it was just too brutal for him. Roeper said he has seen them all so far and he watches them so he knows what's going on out there. That led to the guys talking about what's going on with the FCC, the indecency bill and all of that stuff. Ebert said that it's chilling the way the FCC is going back 3 years to find stuff to fine Howard over. He said that when this indecency bill gets signed into law, he'll have to go off the air because they will start fining him for stuff from 3 years ago and it will bankrupt him and maybe the company he works for.
Ebert was talking about how insane this Senator Brownback sounds talking about how the country wants people like Howard off the air. You'd think that everyone in the country had health care and a job. Howard wondered why every senator but 1 went along with the bill that was just passed the other day. They spent a couple of minutes talking about that before Howard got back to movie discussions.
