Just saw F-911 in Louisville...Incredible support.

Attended the 5:40pm showing at the local independent theater. Sold out. They have 3 screens for the 7:30ish and 9:30ish showings. All sold out.

Three other theaters in the Louisville area are showing the film, the only one I called is SOLD OUT.

People laughed, cried, cheered.

Outside the theater people were holding up signs (I especially liked the * life-sized cut-out w/ a sign saying "See F-911") and passing out voter registration forms (lots of takers...and this was before a 5:40 pm showing!!!!).

I think I found the response from my moderate city/red state as moving as I found the actual film.

I was in Kentucky in 1977 attending Basic Camp for ROTC. We figured out that we were earning 25 cents/hour. I loved your state's people the brief time I was there - and visited Louisville once.

It's good to know that the folks in your niche in Kentucky are socially aware. :-)

7. The general political climate of Louisville, KY

The West End and South End are pretty solid blue-collar Democratic, while the East End kind of resembles Anaheim, CA, in atmosphere and :puke: politics. Big, spotless SUV's (gas is a nickel to a dime higher in the East End), BC04 stickers (the Haves and the Have Mores), strip malls (and the regular kind), mega stores (Meijer, Biggs, Sam's, etc.), McMansions, and the kind of Applebee's clones you'd see in the movie Office Space.

Outside Jefferson County, you have the God Made Bush President contingent pretty much running things.

9. Points of disagreement:

The South End has a somewhat red cast while the East End is a mixed bag. The area I live in, St. Matthews, is largely Catholic-Democrat, hell we almost got rid of Northrup (she survives by being somewhat moderate). The "far" East End is a different matter.

The theater I went to is in the Highlands--a bluer area doesn't exist.

I will definitely agree on much of the rest of KY, but Louisville keeps the rest of the state from falling irretrievably into the red sea.

11. Same way in Chattanooga, TN

This is a very conservative town but at the 2:30 showing today at the mall, Fahrenheit was sold out. When the mother was reading the letter from her son people cheered and clapped loudly when the letter said we need to vote the fool out.

George is going back to Crawford in January.
