The fact that so many people who don't have cable TV and who saw FH9/11 today are reporting that they hadn't known about the attempt by the Black Caucus to challenge the 2000 election without the support of one Senator. That, my friend, is an indictment of the media that is controlled by the RW. Unless you had cable TV and watched C-Span that bit of news was not covered in the small hamlets of the red states. Just like Cheney using the F- word is not being reported there.
Shows you what we are up against.

| 1. I had cable, but you probably had to know when it was on. And |
|
when you work during the day, you don't get the chance to see things. But I had not heard of that until today.
So, who's side are the Democrats on?

| 2. this has been new news to me....I don't have cable |
|
I also stay away from TV a lot since it is getting more and more violent.
The fear factor and other crap aren't for me....
So it is very interesting to know not a single senator supported the black caucus
This is really a statement on our political process.....on both sides of the aisle...

| 3. Media Panning F911 Is Laughable - Moore Reports Everything They Didn't |
|
no wonder they are in full attack mode - this movie makes them looks like the morons/whores they are. It's sad when it takes a movie for millions to finally learn some truth that has been lacking for the past 3 1/2 years.

I spend hours on yahoo groups looking for info but I realize I was in the minority. Scary how much people don't know if they don't spend hours on the internet.

| 6. I haven't had a television hookup for 6 years, |
|
yet I knew pretty much everything that Moore talks about in his film.
Although the media is certainly culpable, and in some cases nothing more than a propaganda arm for the government, I in no way believe that this exonerates the people for their deliberate, willful ignorance. The facts have always been available to those who are aware of a world outside of their beer mugs, for those whose conscience isn't seared and whose hearts haven't withered.
I lay the blame for our current situation clearly and squarely at the feet of a populace that just simply doesn't give a shit. Are there signs of attitudes turning? Sure, a little. But it wouldn't take much to turn them right back again. All * has to do is make June 30th successful (in PR terms), and perhaps make sure Ken Lay is indicted, and his numbers will go right back up again.
Personally, I don't believe, as some on here do, that the country is "waking up". I think they've simply been temporarily aroused by a sudden realization that what the WH does actually does affect their lives. They might throw * out of office in November. But then they'll go right back to sleep again.
Sorry to be so pessimistic, but we have a lot of work to do.

|
could keep up with the crap Washington was pulling. Even with the internet, one has to be on it for hours going through web sites. I have been luck in that places I worked at I had internet access. I don;t think the average person has the time to spend hours and hours on the internet (or the ability) to get informed. And our government is very good at hiding things. Even in plain sight like this.
That is the way the run things. Hidden from the public. They can't afford to let everyone know what's going on. And the media sure doesn't help anyone but the politicans.
And it's really hard to care when you have no idea how to change it and it just keeps getting worse.

I've had my own moments of despair over things, thinking that one person can't really accomplish much (especially during times when it's dangerous even to mention that you don't like what's going on). And no one is more likely to come home from work and just drop on the sofa in front of the DVD player than I am. (Independent film buff, professional shiftless bum, I have raised procrastination to the level of an art.) Yet I managed to learn what was happening.
My point was simply that, if a person wants to know the truth, s/he can ALWAYS discover it. If not, then no amount of access will make any difference.

Why the media is bashing it. They're being called on the carpet for not providing actual NEWS.
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
