I think the change will be in the questions asked by the media. I think Bush & Co. are going to be forced to answer questions they do not want asked.

then no one is going to hear Bush & Co's message. It will spell then end of them. If the do not answer anywhere, then people will vote them out for it.

I know, I'm think best case situation, but it might just happen because now these ideas have made a lot of money and the media likes to follow things that make money.

from now on. I knew they were "rah rah"ing while being embedded during the war, but I hadn't fully realized how lame they had been during the whole time, from the campaign through now.

They're not hard hitting, fact seeking journalists anymore, are they? Well, maybe the ones in the newspapers. The TV media reporters work for big corporations, and if they want "access," they have to play nice. If they want the FCC bill to go through Congress, they have to play nice. It's disgusting.

In my opinion, most people seeing this movie already hate Bush. This is why you won't see a huge jump.

But, I will say a small change could be in order, as the few fence sitters and maybe just maybe a few RINOs might get converted over.

5. "I didn't know that"

is something I heard a lot on the way out of the theater. This was a fairly young crowd, many of whom I heard on the way in talking about how they didn't know much about the movie. So there may have been some eyes opened.

Will the media be shamed into doing their jobs or fight back? That remains to be seen. So far, I haven't seen one good refutation of anything Moore had to say.

This is entirely new stuff for a lot of people, especially young people.

One thing you can say with certainty about all viewers: the film raises questions -- gnawing, troubling questions. I feel many, many people are going to start wresting with those questions and continue to do so as the summer goes on.

I feel the film will have a major impact --- barring some soon-launched mega-terror distraction. May this never come to pass.

But don't believe it for a minute. A lot of people who go to movies have no idea what the movie is about post ante. They go because the time is convenient, because they see people in line, because other people take them, etc. When I saw F911 in El Paso, the young woman in line in front of me had never heard of Michael Moore and had no idea what this film was about. She told me that she thought it was about 9/11 and wanted to know the facts. When the movie was over, I saw her leaving with tears in her eyes.

You are absolutely correct that "some eyes opened." This movie will have an impact, and it's all bad for bush.

7. I disagree

The ones we need to wake up are the media, and seeing numbers like this is just the way to do it.

Take a look at CNN's "estimated" take on movies this weekend. They don't bother to even list F9/11. That editorial decision is gonna cost them, and they don't like their privates hanging out in public. Its not like they were running as the Illinois Republican candidate for senate or anything.

We need to write CNN and wake them up. We need to write each "performer" and wake them up. We need to put those idjuts on the spot and demand answers to our questions.

That will make the difference. That will make things happen.

9. Immediately - Yes by November, No.

Two factors.

1. Folks have a short memory. If the stock market is up, gas prices low in November, Kerry is toast.

2. The movie is largely playing to the choir. Anti Bush folks go see it in droves, but they are not voting for Bush. Bushies won't bother to see it.

As for the the undecided folk. Well it will swing them in the short term. But Geez.. HOW CAN ANYONE be undecided at this point? If someone is undecided now, they are likely to change their mind 3 more times before November.

By November, the largest practical impact of f.9/11 will be to Moores bank account.

Nader and other far left voters who see it and decide Bush is so bad that they can't afford to let the perfect be the enemy of the good, hold their nose and vote Kerry.

It also may affect those who would never vote for a democrat or left leaning candidate but get disgusted with Bush and stay home or vote some other third party.

Those are the two groups I see it most affecting, other than maybe helping with turnout amongst mainline democrats.
