| My favorite scene in F 9/11. Ashcroft singing |
|
the "patriotic" song he wrote himself. It was like watching Adolf Hitler trying to do Fred Astaire.
Yes, the seven minutes of Shrub sitting in that classroom doing his impersonation of Dan Quayle was great. But Ashcroft singing is something that will live in your nightmares forever.
(Oh, yeah. Apologies to Dan Quayle. Even Mr. Potatoe head never looked that clueless.)

He'd call an assistant or other colleague down to wherever he had his piano and show them the latest song he had written, saying: "You have to hear this". I read this (I forget where) around the time he was being nominated for AG by Bush.

He's consistently dem but not hard core/gung ho like us. It was his first exposure to even the notion that Asscroft "sang". He cracked up. Totally lost it. That definitely was one of the highlights of the film. Oh well, I guess the AG can always get a gig in comedy.
