there was a snippet in an article posted here on the DU a couple of months ago (sorry I can't find the link)

it mentioned that bush* is managing his own campaign...

considering how he ran his former ventures into the ground, and how he is running the country -- it's not surprising to see this type of slime and mud emerging from a white house that was suppose to restore honor and dignity

Despite raising at least $218 million so far - blowing away the previous fundraising record - Bush is spending himself into the ground for very little gain. And now he's sending emails to his supporters whining about how Kerry "has certainly got his liberal allies all stirred up to attack me." Awwww. Poor George. Oh well, perhaps if the last four years haven't proven beyond all doubt that Bush's talent for running companies into the ground extends to his presidency, at least his supporters might now start wondering what they're getting for all their vanishing cash.

No American President sits above the law. Any belief that he does justifiably earns him the moral judgment of unforgivable arrogance.

This remnant delusion from the Nixon era should be relegated once again to the historical scrap heap, so that George Bush, like Nixon, can be held accountable for what he has done.

Earlier this month, Capital Hill Blue reported that witnesses told a federal jury Bush knew about the impending release to a journalist of a covert CIA operative's name, but did nothing to stop it. Nor did he report it after it happened. Releasing the name of an operative can be a federal crime, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. More importantly for Bush, knowing about that crime and yet not reporting it might also constitute a criminal act.

Now, if Bush knew that someone released classified information - specifically, the name of a CIA operative - and yet did not report it, our current President might soon find himself standing before the American public, saying words similar to those spoken by Richard Nixon in 1973. while the "Story" keeps cropping up - it is all from the same source - note the exact same quotes. Given the insider/gossipy nature of the CHB site (a "fun" read - sometimes on the mark - but sometimes seems to be more about lower level staffers on the hill dishing gossipy items than anything else), I still say - until a story - not based directly on the one item/"article" shows up - it isn't a story. Just a rehash of the same item.

Not that the story doesn't seem to have a ring for truth... he does seem to have a pretty tenuous grasp on ... issues, policies, reality on the ground of the consequences of his actions, etc.... just pointing out that this item is getting the whitewater/rehash same story as if it is new truth sort of treatment.
