It starts slowly. The better newspapers have to start reporting it. Even CNN will ask questions, did you hear yesterday they demanded a count of the wounded? And said so on the air. Over a 1,000 wounded. You can bet that's not just hangnails.
Pictures of the soldiers in distress and more pictures of little children maimed and murdered or frightened. Fewer people wearing those damned flag pins.
I'm waiting for the flags to start coming off the cars. It should be any day now.

If momentum means anything, Bush is in trouble.
Any DU physicists care to comment? :)

it seems that the political center of gravity sits on a pendulum with varying lengths inversely proportional to the pace of events perceived by the electorate. (formula is, IIRC t = sqr(l/g) t is the period, l is length, g is generally a constant, gravity. I think l (that is the letter 'ell', not the number 'one) is shrinking rapidly. End of babble. :D

And I guess it is more of an engineering problem than a physics problem, isn't it?

It hasn't looked this bad for * since 9/10/01. People are starting to notice that the little boy has cried wolf too many times. And the bipolar nature of the media (either all good or all bad) does not bode well for pResident happicrack, either.
I predict it will suddenly be fashionable to shout "The emperor has no clothes!" with your media microphone.
But we've know this for a long time...

I was actually surprised at how fast nixon gaveup....it could have gone on much much longer if nixon had stayed in office for an impeachment hearing, which is what Clinton did...
but, nixon tried everything just as shrub is doing now...denial, speeches, cover-ups, paper-shredding, finger-pointing, scape goats, and the finalle...when Rosemary Woods, nixon's secretary, got caught erasing 18 (?) minutes of a WH taping of nixon...nixon said it was an accident, but the American people were shocked...and Watergate was a minor nixon crime...that's why he avoided the impeachment hearings, because there was lot more horrors coming out from the "bowels" of the White House...it started leaking everywhere, while the criminals abandoned the sinking ship, leaving nixon alone to face the music....
nixon quit pretty much as soon as Congress demanded that the records be produced, when he lost the challenge to keep things secret....and with the orchestrated "pardons" from the about-to-be-appointed President Ford...nixon took his best option - and flew away...shrub's a real chicken and I cannot imagine him having the stamina to stand up to an impeachment, like Clinton did...shrub already has several Congressional inquiries starting...and a real damaging 9-11 report coming out...
we'll all be waiting for the chimp to return from his really important African tour and elephant petting events...lalalala dadada lalala duh....
on edit: will Congress ask for the tape recordings of WH conversations, as they did with nixon??? everything in the oval office is recorded...which was nixon's demise...

I think the system was taken down.
You know that Ken Starr would have broadcast Monica's sex noises if the system was in place.

| 13. Clinton was talking on the phone to a congressman at the time... |
|
that was probably all that Starr heard on the tapes...
at least we had a President who could multi-task...now we have a pRedient who can't chew gum and watch TV at the same time...
shrub made a big mistake going to Africa this week, and he is messing up every which way...shrub doesn't know how to think strategically, and he's doing real bad right now...
bush* is a WAR CRIMINAL...and it's only a matter of time now...many slugs much bigger than bush* have gone done spectacularly...bush* will soon hit the dustbin of history, if he's lucky enough to avoid the Haig...(and shrub may be that lucky, but who knows...the Haig has already called for him)...

there's a whole lot more "leaks" that could come out explosively....and a lot of OUR Civil Servants who are older, ready to retire, who may take their retirements and spill the beans (opening up the possibilities of new careers in the process)...
shrub treats his employees badly, and there are likely none that will go to prison for that slug....everybody will bail on shrub...
plus, there should be some young ambitious reporters who want to make a real career move, ala the guys who blew open the nixon stuff...
