Defending his trillion-dollar tax cuts, Bush said he knew one couple that owns a small business and stands to get 2,700 dollars back, then added: "Oh, some of the sophisticates will say that '2,700 dollars doesn't matter.'"


The crowd's jeers turned to applause when Bush continued: "It's a lot to them. That's what counts. And when they have more money in their pocket, the economy benefits."

Bush derides Kerry and running mate and fellow Senator John Edwards (news - web sites) as wealthy lawyers, while the Republican party's official web site features an interactive game, based on the classic board game Monopoly, meant to highlight Kerry's ample wealth.

I'd suggest he apply to be a lot attendant at a Home Depot somewhere, but with my luck the SOB would wind up at my store. Besides, we all know his work record.

Any one of these factors alone will cripple if not kill us.

We need to stop relying on foreign countries to support our greed weed (money) habit. It is not good policy to need 60% of our energy coming from overseas (let alone what the civilized nations need). It is not good policy to move important jobs overseas and leave those at home with minimum wage crap jobs in return.
