had comments from military and others that we are acting as a magnet for extremists to come in as though it were part of the plan.
(Paraphrasing)Koppel says (to the tv audience), " Really? I don't remember this being a stated part of our strategy...to make Iraq magnet for extremists so as to fight them over there rather than here." ====
I thought it was a great point. We claimed over and over that "WE'VE FREEEEEEED THE IRAQI PEOPLE!" and now we're saying we're using Iraq as a magnet for extremists.

Fuck the UN, they are can't lead. We've bailed them out too many times with our superior armed forces. Countries like France, Germany and Russia will cause problems. Let NATO take charge.
Um, someone should tell him that France & Germany are part of NATO

|
no useful purpose anymore......maybe I don't have that accurate....but darned if I don't remember Rummy shooting off his mouth all over the place about Nato.
They are really in a bind here. Pride won't let them use UN Troops.......but they want to try to bully NATO into it.
How much are we going to have to pay in bribes? And, even then, I don't know after our behavior if bribes would work.

Trashed every entity that wasn't fawning over and cheerleading the Admins every utterance.
Except the Saudis, of course.

Was only half listening to Nightline, did I hear McCain do some serious talking about taking care of the situation in Syria?

McCain, of all people, should be seeing where this war is headed. Sorry, but the words of the Republicans on Iraq ring very hollow these days.
Their future electoral success is intimately tied to US actions in Iraq. They own the whole debacle and they will be spinning the results furiously over the upcoming months....I hope the American people can separate the rhetoric between what's good for Republican Party interests and what is good for American interests.
