| WalMart Pushing Nader Petitions |
|
Just a note and I have to sign off. Today I went to WalMart and there was a table set up right in front of the entrance doors. A woman was asking people to sign a petition to get "independent candidateS (plural) a chance to be on the November ballot. Well, of course, no real American would deny someone a chance to run..correct?? There were a number of people signing the petition.
I walked up with a big smile and said "is this for Ralph Nader"?? She beamed and handed me one of the 20 or so forms on the table and said "yes, this one is for Nader". I said "no thank you, I'm not a Nader supporter NOR a Republican". Several people left the table when they realized what was happening. I began to walk away and then thought better of it.
I went back and asked her who the other petitions were for. She kept saying "to get independents on the ballot". I said "there is no such petition because you have to have specific names." I kept pushing her and demanded to know who the others were for. Bottom line--when it was over, they ALL were for Ralph and they had his named buried on the first page which was like 10 ten pages back on each clipboard.
But the thing that totally pissed me off because I've been to WalMart to set up tables for school money raising events, etc. is that you CANNOT just slap a table up in front of the store. You have to have the management's permission. They are pushing the Nader petitions and the Nader people are not honest enough to tell you who these petitions are for!!! I ran into an assistant manager and let it fly. He gave me a Teresa look--you know "shove it" but with a "f--ing bitch" chaser.

but why were you there shopping ??
hubby and I boycott the Walton family stores. Not only do we hate their politics, their products are shabby. Sure the prices are low, but there is some truth to the old saw "You get what you pay for"

| 5. Walmart helped elect Elizabeth Dole the senator |
|
in North Carolina in 2002.
They sent out booklets advertising their products. On the cover was a picture of Dole in front of an American flag and there was a story about her inside.
This was against the campaign rules, but Walmart claimed they printed up the booklet before Dole decided to run. So Dole got all of this free PR and there were no penalities for her or Walmart.

....I get it. EVM's, repub absentee ballots and purged voters in Florida. 2000 all over again. It worked once, right? The second time will be a cake walk.
Can someone tell me why we put up with this?

| 11. Wal-Mart won't allow Voter Registration at its stores |
|
at least none of the stores in Arkansas will allow it. I'm involved with a voter registration drive and all the store managers said they were told not to allow it. This includes 9 different Wal-Mart stores in central Arkansas that all gave the same response.

They're as big a problem as Ralph Nader. And they wouldn't be such a big problem if they didn't have customers supporting them.
They're a cancer on the planet.

| 16. Uh, maybe because she doesn't make $175,000 a year? |
|
like most "Middle-Class" people. Maybe she hasn't a Costco within 75 miles, like me. Maybe because she realizes that if she boycotted everything a "Good Liberal" is supposed to boycot, she'd be trying to run a household on mud, sticks, roadkill and old tin cans?
