Will Bushco. "disrupt" a terror attack against NYC in the upcoming weeks before the convention so he can come into NYC where he currently has an approval in the low 20's and be welcomed as the Hero who Saved NYC (or at least try to foster that image)?

I know one Bush supporter who is very embarrassed about it and won't discuss it...Which is why I'm floating this possible scenario...I can't imagine them coming here without them trying something, anything to improve his image here...
This is something that I don't think is beneath them. Ramping up the threats against NYC and then VOILA, busting up a terror ring that was planning an imminent attack...It may or may not work to improve his image here, but it's certainly something that might occur to them...

although on second thought, he has used 9/11 for political benefit. First selling pictures then scheduling the convention 11 days prior to the 3rd anniversary. Not a single union in the city is supporting him and New Yorkers have natural bullshit detectors. So I guess it is about right

Bu$hco has a bunch hidden around the country that they are magically going to find just in the nick of time. Hence the foiled terrorist plot concept.

Wasn't the "information" on the hard drive of the laptop computer they seized pre-9/11 attack strategy stuff? Why would anyone reasonably think that information that old should prompt a crisis atmosphere in a few buildings THIS WEEK?
I mean, I realize there is no critical thinking going on in the BushCo administration, and that, as Dean plainly said, this is all being spun for political reasons to freak people out and to convince them only the Boy Emporer can save them from the barbaric hordes, but come on............are we so taken in by American Pravda that we are spinning hypotheticals based on BushCo campaign fantasies?
I thought I was on the DU website.

|
in NY, and this is just their way of setting up more security to thwart the protesters more than the terrorists. When they get tough with the protesters they'll say "it's in your best interests"; this will only be on the local news in NY, so New Yorkers will have to keep the rest of us informed on what's really going on in the streets.

Such idiotic tactics may work in the bible belt (no offense meant to DU'ers living in the bible belt), but it's only pissing off New Yorkers even more than we already are.
Most of us know it's a political stunt, and if it does happen, it will be perpetrated by our own government.

B*sh had better not show a hair of his asshole anywhere near them. They've got the tar and feathers ready.
Seriously, I was at a "Circle of Hope" walk the night of Sept. 10 last year. We ended the walk surrounding Ground Zero with our flashlights. Afterward, I was slowly walking my way up Liberty Street when I came across a few groups of 9/11 firefighter families. (you could tell them apart because they wore T-shirts with photos of their loved ones) I didn't stop to make talk or anything, but I kept one ear open - and they kept taking the names of B*sh and Cheney in vain.

Because Smirky can't go out in public anywhere in the world without massive protests. So he is tying down NYC to prevent massive protests. Kerry, on the other hand can have OUTDOOR rallies of 10-20k attendance.... not "invited, security screened, social security numbers checked, and vote pledges signed shills. Yay JFK!
