| Outsourcing jobs to India |
|
Maybe it's the places in India that I've tried to call and fax (for the academics I work for), but sometimes it literally takes several days to get through on the phone lines. Perhaps the companies (including f***ing repugs) that are sending jobs there are investing and upgrading the systems they have. It just makes me wonder.

Also don't they know that Indians have a socialist culture and don't by nature work as hard as Americans? (That's not meant as an insult, it's just an observation of the ones over here).
> Thats a moronic assumption. If anything Indians work much harder than an average american.

does it have to do with me?
You are simply wrong in asserting that Indians work less than an american. Quite untrue. Given how the state of their infrastructure is, that itself cannot be basis for efficiency. Also 60% of their economy is driven by agriculture which is not modern as most developed countries. Naturally given those conditions, they have to work much harder to be productive.
Further more, I've had a lot of Indian friends during my undergrad studies, and my observation says that their work ethics is quite commendable.
And I have no idea where you got that from about the Indians. Ah...the media.

Maybe it's just because they happen to own the company I work for, and I'm pissed because they're so tight with the rest of us and some of their family members don't feel they have to work that hard. I'm sure there are a lot of hard working Indians and they make excellent programmers.

wow...take that upto the family members and make a real good case.
Indians represent almost a fifth of the world population and honestly they dont deserve your treatment when they're having such a hard time sustaining themselves.

Many companies outsource phone related jobs to india already. I know alot of people who have called tech support numbers and gotten indian tech support people. I remember hearing about how they are briefed with things to talk about so that they sound american.
I'm guessing it's cheeper to provide infrastructure for indian workers than paying american wages.

| 12. I had to call AT&T on Monday |
|
and the person I spoke to had such a heavy Indian accent I could not understand him, and hung up in frustration. The man was polite, I was polite, I just couldn't get what I wanted done. I will be placing my business elsewhere, and not because I belabor anybody anywhere a chance to make a living, I just need to be able to communicate with my service providers, I am the one paying bill.
