| CNN's latest terrorist alert story leaves out age of info |
|
Read for yourself. The dateline is hours after the first reports the files from the terrorist computer found in Pakistan predated Sept. 11. Is there any more doubt which party has CNN in its pocket right now? http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/08/02/terror.threat/index.html

This pair of news items - the terror alert, plus the fact that the reports it was based on date from 3-4 years ago - makes a very good "litmus test" to see where a particular media outlet stands.
CNN is big enough that they ought to have staffers who do nothing else besides scan the top news website (NYT, WaPo, DU, atrios.blogspot.com, digbysblog.blogspot.com, www.billmon.com, www.talkingpointsmemo.com, corrente.blogspot.com, etc) to make sure they're not missing any important news.
The fact that CNN is running a story which was debunked on the first page of WaPo and NYT says a lot about CNN.
