| Just got back from Barack Obama's birthday party, Jesse Jr. sang |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-04-04 10:40 PM by wndycty
. . .Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday to you." It was a classic moment, right after the traditional "Happy Birthday" Jesse Jr. grabbed the microphone and sang and the entire crowd joined it. It was quite the party.
Oh yeah Obama addressed the rumors that there is jealousy between the two of them. He talked about their longtime friendship, how his wife Michelle grew up with Jesse, how Jesse's sister is the god mother of his children. The crowd went nuts.
He praised Emil Jones. As usual there were tons of tears in the room, I guess he just does that to people.

Last night I went to see Prince and the women were unbelievable, however the women at the Obama rally gave them a run for their money. I think Obama rallies could be the meat market of the political season. . .I saw a few Mrs. wndycty's tonight! LOL

. . .however Obama said the only person he is afraid to run against is his wife Michelle. To quote Obama:
She is smarter than me.
She is better looking than me.
She is tougher than me.
Thank god she is not a Republican.

I'm getting the impression that soon his acolytes will say he was born of a Virgin, and then three wise men came to visit Obama with gold, frankincense and myrrh. "As usual there were tons of tears in the room." Sorry, but that is NOT healthy politics. Confusing politics with tears, is sick. "I guess he just does that to people" - so did Hitler. Hitler was very good at moving people to tears. Tears are not wisdom. Confusing politics with indulgent visceral emotions has always, always, led to hysteria and violence, historically.

It was a birthday party! People are happy that a bright, articulate person may actually be elected to the senate. You betray your biases. We are hoping like hell to take back the senate each voice we can add is a plus. I'm not sure where you are coming from but as far as I am concerned he has electrified the electorate in our favor, and I don't see that as a bad thing.
